About Us

South Strand Moms was created to inform, connect, encourage and support families across the South Strand area covering Andrews, Georgetown, the Waccamaw Neck and Murrells Inlet. This locally focused digital resource will offer current information on topics and subjects that are important to families. We strive to provide you needed resources and guide you on your parenthood journey through locally written articles and sharing family friendly events, programs and opportunities that you need to know about. Though our target audience is local families the content will also be appropriate for visitors to our beautiful and special area.

The South Strand area is rich in art, history and beauty and it’s important that we both preserve and tell our story. Let’s do it together!

We chose the starfish as part of the design because it represents love, guidance, inspiration, and rebirth. Everything we want South Strand Moms to embody. We hope that you enjoy the coastal blue and coral colors as well. They are vibrant tones that can be found in the South Strand area.

SOUTH STRAND MOMS FOUNDER

Sarah Lewis had the opportunity to work for Georgetown County Economic Development as the Business Development Director and later for the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Programs and Communications. It was during her experience in the Leadership Georgetown program that she fell in love with the South Strand area and its unique history and beauty. She dreamed of an opportunity to share with others what she had learned, preserve the unique history and art, and provide a platform for others in the area to tell their story. After her second child was born in 2020 she envisioned the creation of a place for moms to share and discuss their experiences and finally in 2022 this dream became a reality. Sarah hopes that everyone can benefit from the parent site and digital resource that South Strand Moms strives to offer. Together we can inform, connect, encourage and support one other.
