$10 per child, $15 per adult
Researchers at Clemson’s Baruch Institute use high-tech tools at Hobcaw Barony to examine how forests interact with the atmosphere. In this event, young scientists will perform experiments in the classroom that demonstrate how data is collected from Clemson’s research towers. The experience will be completed by visiting one of the towers in a young longleaf pine forest. Recommended for ages 10 and up; children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should wear close-toed shoes and dress for the weather (and the possibility of biting insects). Participants may want to bring a hat and bug spray. (Exertion level: Medium impact- walking on uneven terrain, standing) Reservations required.
