Write for South strand moms

We love to share inspiring and informative stories from local moms! The purpose and mission of this site is the Inform, Connect, Support and Encourage. Your knowledge and expertise are greatly appreciated and we cannot wait to learn more about what you have to offer. Before you get started, let’s discuss details on what is needed and expected from your guest article. Always feel free to contact us directly if you have any further questions at [email protected] Thanks for the consideration!!

* If you are a local business owner and want to reach our audience, we’d love to talk to you about advertising options. We ask that guest bloggers refrain from writing about businesses with which they have a financial affiliation. Submit interest for partnership here.

  • Think LOCAL: We love to keep all of our content relevant to the South Strand area…or at least within driving distance for day trips and outings. Blog posts can feature places to go and things to do while more general topics {feeding, potty training, DIY…} can be given a local twist simply because they are written by a local mom – YOU!
  • Think MOMS: It may sound obvious, but SSM’s target audience is made up of moms, so it only makes sense that our content should remain under the broad category of parenting writing, within which you have a ton of subtopics to choose from – the experience of being a mom, stages and phases of development, tips and tricks, home management strategies specific to moms, and of course, all the locally-focused ideas mentioned earlier. At the end of the day though, we are all moms just trying to make our lives a little bit more enjoyable. If you have an idea that interests you and your friends, then our readers would probably love to read about it too!
  • Think CONNECTIONS: We encourage you to think critically about ways to engage your audience. Try to include clever and catchy post titles that draw people in or spark curiosity, and give your readers a reason to read. Always feel free to contact us with editorial questions or suggestions, we will happily assist you!
  • Most Importantly: Write what you love, and love what you write!

Also, please take care with these important guidelines…

  • Guest posts should be between 400-800 words and proofread for errors before submitting.
  • By submitting your post below, you agree that your post is completely original and has not posted anywhere else on the Internet. Additionally, you agree not to publish the post anywhere else {your own blog or as a guest post on other websites} in the future. You can certainly link back to it with up to five sentences – for instance, ‘Today I am over at SSM posting about XYZ.’ … but the full content should remain exclusive to SouthStrandMoms.com.
  • We know you know this but we have to share anyway, content should be free from the following – profanity, sexual language, political endorsement of a party or candidate, political commentary, op-ed commentary on controversial social and/or political issues, and derogatory or inflammatory language.
  • Please submit at least one photo with your post, keeping copyright guidelines in mind when doing so. You are welcome to submit multiple photos and we will pick which one works best. Please include at least one horizontal photo, if possible. If you submit photos that do not belong to you must also include the written permission to use them or the stock photo source from which you received it. If you don’t have an image that you think is appropriate, that’s okay. SSM will choose a high-res stock image that works.
  • Please provide a bio (100 words or less) and a picture of you (or you with your family) to use at the bottom of your post.
  • Also, it is VERY important that you confirm your submission has gone through before closing out of this page. Once you click ‘SUBMIT’, the page will refresh and you will get a confirmation notice if all information has been entered properly.
  • Please Note: We welcome all guest post submissions, but it is not a guarantee that your post will get published. We schedule our editorial calendar out two months in advance, so please consider that when choosing your topic.
  • And last, but certainly not least – after your post is live, we would love for you to share it via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, carrier pigeon, and everywhere else you can think of!
